UMFK Computer Systems Administration program students configured and built six (6) new high-end PC workstations. The students will be the first point of contact for IT support and are responsible for maintaining the stations. The eSports Center is located in a newly renovated space in the campus Sports Center.

eSports is essentially competitive video gaming. There are a huge variety of eSports titles played by thousands of athletes and watched by millions of people worldwide.
Did you know that eSports can offer many benefits for college students? By working with teammates to strategize and execute game plans, students learn to develop effective communication and collaboration skills and to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations. These important skills extend beyond the virtual arena and are repeatedly highlighted by employers and managers as extremely important in considering new hires. eSports is an effective way to connect with other students and foster a sense of community and belonging. Team members have the opportunity to explore STEAM concepts and career paths, as well as compete for scholarships and tournament prizes. eSports is an exciting and rewarding activity that can help boost your academic and professional success.
If you want to join the UMFK eSports team, click here to complete the application form. You must be a current or accepted UMFK student enrolled in at least 6 credits. You may be either on campus or online. If you are an online student, you must provide your own computer equipment and high-speed Internet access. Tryouts are held at the beginning of each semester.
