Brief Biography

The Behavioral Science program at UMFK prepared me to excel in my work as Licensed Social Worker and Discharge Planner at Northern Maine Medical Center. My internship experience allowed me to secure my job within a few weeks of graduation. I learned so much about myself and the behavioral health field throughout the program. I was able to develop the knowledge and skills needed in the field and was able to learn about so many different career options from crisis intervention to substance abuse counseling. The program fostered collaborative learning with other students and faculty in and outside the classroom. I am also working towards my graduate degree in Counseling and will graduate soon as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. This program helped prepare me to be successful for graduate school and in my career.
