Raised in a small mill town in downeast Maine, I knew I always wanted to pursue a career outdoors, and give back to my community. After graduating from high school, I enlisted into the United States Marine Corps where I served on two different deployments as an Infantry Rifleman. My first deployment was to Afghanistan, whereas my second deployment was part of a Black Sea Rotation following the end of both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars with the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force. After being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps I applied for college at the University of Maine at Fort Kent where I received an associates degree in Applied Forest Management in 2018.
I am currently employed as a Forester with Prentiss and Carlisle Management Company. As a forester I have many different tasks, and responsibilities such as overseeing logging operations, forest inventory, GIS & Mapping, and assisting in the construction of forest roads. Being a forester for almost 4 years now I can’t see myself doing anything different. It is a lifestyle of its own, and I take a lot of pride in it. I am very grateful for the education I received at UMaine Fort Kent, as well as my professors. Like I always say “what better place to learn about the forest, than Northern Maine!”
